
Learn Cello Geography from Cellist Jonathan Simmons
A passionate teacher, cellist Jonathan Simmons is offering a short introduction to cello geography in his Mapping the Fingerboard class at the Cello Guild.
Jonathan is currently pursuing a DMA at the University of North Carolina – Greensboro (UNCG), studying with Dr. Alex Ezerman. At UNCG, he serves as the cellist of the graduate string quartet and as principal cellist in the UNCG Symphony Orchestra. He is also the author of the educational Cello Life Blog and has experience teaching live and online lessons to students as far away as Australia.
American Premiere of Matz Concerto
He recently performed the American premiere of the orchestrated version of the Rudolf Matz Cello Concerto (1976) from the UNCG Cello Collections.
